Login & Access¶
Do I need to be on TUKE network?
Yes. Access is possible from the internal university network or via VPN tunnel.
Which domain to use when logging in?
Always choose ad.tuke.sk domain. Other domains will cause an error.
I forgot my password. How do I change it?
Password is managed through the TUKE single sign-on system.
Virtual Machines¶
When will my VM be created?
VMs are not created automatically. After submitting a request, it must be approved by an administrator (only during business days). Then VM creation begins.
What OS are available?
- Windows Server 2025
- Windows 11
- Ubuntu Server 24.04
- Ubuntu Desktop 24.04
How large a disk do I get?
Every VM is automatically allocated a 250 GB disk.
My VM shut down. Why?
Each VM has time validity. After expiration, it shuts down, after 90 days it's deleted. Extend validity via Change Lease.
Licenses¶
Do I need to activate Windows license?
No. The license is automatically set and centrally managed.
Are other programs licensed?
No. Licenses for third-party software (Office, development tools) must be secured by yourself.
Can I uninstall VMware Tools?
No! This leads to immediate VM cancellation and data deletion.
Connecting to VM¶
How do I connect to Windows VM?
Via RDP (Remote Desktop). DNS name is in the last email.
How do I connect to Linux VM?
Via SSH:

How much space do I have available?
Default quota is 15 GB. For increase, contact identity@helpdesk.tuke.sk.
Is my data backed up?
Yes, to two independent locations. There's also soft-delete against accidental deletion.
Can I edit documents online?
Yes, the system uses OnlyOffice for editing .docx, .xlsx, .pptx in real-time.
Webhosting¶
What technologies does webhosting support?
PHP 8.x, MySQL/MariaDB, FTP/FTPS, Cron, Let's Encrypt SSL.
What are the webhosting limits?
- PHP memory limit: 512 MB
- Max upload: 128 MB
- PHP workers: 40
